How to Edit a Blog Category Name in Squarespace 7.1

See this content in the original post

When selecting a blog category, choosing a name that accurately reflects its content is important. For example, as an interior designer, you may have a category for bedroom decor. A logical name would be "Bedroom Design." This helps readers know what they’ll find within the category and helps with your website’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

As your blog grows, you may need to update a category name to reflect the posts in the category better. Below is a quick tutorial showing you how to edit a blog category in Squarespace 7.1.

In my example, my target audience has changed from Dogs to Otters (I wish!), so I’m changing my category name from “Web Content for Dogs” to “Web Content for Otters.”

Step 1: Access the Blog Settings

The first thing you need to do is access the blog settings. To do this, log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the website you want to edit. Click the Pages section and select your blog's page. Once you are on the blog page, click the gear icon in the top right corner to select Blog Settings.

Step 2: Edit the Name of the Category

Once you are in the blog settings, navigate to Advanced → Categories here, you will see a list of all the categories you have created. Find the category you want to edit and click on the blank box to the right. This will allow you to edit the name of the category.

Step 3: Save Changes

After you have edited the category name, click Save to ensure your changes are applied. This change will be applied to every blog post that uses that category.
