How to Manage Form Submissions in Squarespace
Form Submission Management in Squarespace 7.1
In the past, whenever someone submitted a form on your Squarespace website, you'd receive an email containing their contact information and any field submissions. While this method worked, emails often got buried, leading to missed opportunities and a less-than-ideal user experience. To combat this, many website owners redirected form submissions to Google Sheets. While effective, it required extra steps, and the data wasn't stored natively on the Squarespace website.
The new Form Submission Storage feature finally modernizes the process. Now, you can access your form submissions directly through your Squarespace dashboard, eliminating the need to sift through emails or manage external spreadsheets.
How to Access Form Submissions: A Step-by-Step Guide
Access Your Squarespace Dashboard: Log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the website in question.
Locate Form Submissions: Click the "Contacts" tab and select "Form Submitters." You'll see a list of emails from people who have submitted forms.
Review a Submission: Click on an email or “submitter” to view detailed information. Each form submission is categorized by the person who submitted it, displaying their name, email, and the date the form was submitted.
Detailed Form View: Clicking on a specific email opens a detailed view on the right-hand side. Here, you can review the content of the form.
Profile Management: Navigate to the full profile to add tags, make notes, or edit contact information. This internal information helps you keep track of interactions and plan follow-ups.
Deleting Profiles: If a contact is no longer relevant, you have the option to delete the entire profile, including form submissions. However, keep in mind that you cannot delete only the form submissions while retaining the profile.
While Squarespace currently doesn't allow the deletion of a single form submission, I hope for updates that offer more granular control in the future. For now, take advantage of the Form Submission Storage feature to efficiently manage and organize your Squarespace website's form submissions directly from your dashboard.
